On March 18, 2008 Sir Arthur C. Clarke, the famous Sci-Fi writer and the first to set out the principles for satellite communication in geostationary orbits, died 90 years old. His book "2001: A space odyssey" became a movie, directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1968. The movie opening scene is fantastic showing the transition from a human ape discovering how to use a tool/weapon to a fast leap to a space ship.
