Man-made "birds"

When traveling to watch birds at lake Tåkern on May 29th we took the opportunity to also watch man-made "birds" in the Swedish Air Force Museum at Malmslätt in Linköping

The museum is somewhat crowded so the the exhibition area is planned to be doubled in 2010

This engine belonging to a Lancaster Mark 1 bomber was probably shot down while on a mine laying sortie during December 1944, crashing several kilometres offshore from the Swedish city Trelleborg, possibly trying to make mainland Sweden.

This is a SAAB Gripen jet fighter simulator, which with the help of an instructor can be flown by museum visitors
