Flight tracks

About 60 % of passenger aircraft are carrying ADS-B transponders which can be received on the ground. The app Flight Radar 24 use ADS-B receivers to visualize flight tracks on a map. See a crowded Europe below this morning.


By zooming in on the map you can follow individual flights live. By touching on the aircraft 38,000 feet above the island Gotland in the Baltic Sea I got some short info and then touching the arrow I got detailed info, even with a photo of the aircraft type.
