QRP Mobile

This morning I put into my car a QRP (low transmit power) transceiver, Yaesu FT-817 with 5 W output. The antenna, a 2.3 m whip antenna, was mounted on the roof. I drove to a very radio silent place nearby and close to the Baltic Sea. There was a contest going on and the signals on the 80 m band from European stations were very strong and also from stations in southernmost Sweden approx. 500 km away. I managed to contact two mobile stations, SA7BBT/7 mobile in Höör and SM6IQD/mobile in Öckerö, the northern archipelago of Gothenburg.
